Why not use a Repository Manager [1][2] and configure everything in
the settings.xml? Let's Maven does what it does best.

As I've seen in the code, Apple Maven plug-in extends the m2eclipse.
I've used m2eclipse for a couple of months and it is very good. So,
don't be afraid of changing it.
