Hello Jake;

It is another request handler "ja" which works much like the "wo" request handler, but when the "save in page cache" occurs, it will put the page into an an alternative page cache called the "page fragment cache". This can be used such that when you update an area of the page using AJAX, the hyperlinks from the un-updated parts of the page will restore the page from the regular page cache as per normal and when you click on a link in the updated area of the page then it will restore the page from the page fragment cache. The hyperlinks in the updated bit need to use the "ja" request handler to achieve this effect. It would be great if Apple could put some javadoc around this so that it is more easily able to be comprehended from an architectural perspective.

I did some limited ajax support in my framework recently and did not need to use the "ja" request handler, but my mechanisms are different to how others might tackle this problem.

cheers.

I'd love it if someone could answer Gennady's question. How does the AJAX support added in WO 5.4 work? Could we have some documentation?
