Hi Ted, I will place some Mozart in my iPad to listen while I install ;-) Perhaps Borodin's Prince Igor too.
You are absolutely right, installation will be done step by step, cautiously. Now a little piece of advice is needed: 1. What MySQL/Apache installation would the list recommend? MacPorts or a stack like MAMP or Bitnami? 2. I have set up a Rackspace cloud server and am very satisfied with them. Since they offer a MySQL database standalone server that will enable our system to grow up as needed, what would you recommend, to keep MySQL or move to Frontbase? I had worked with Frontbase in the past and like it a lot, it seems more solid than MySQL to me, but MySQL is the database choice for Rackspace, so I am in doubt. 3. Do you recommend Eclipse 4.2 over 3.7? 4. Is Java 7 an option? I had problems compiling Wonder with Java 7, so should I stick to 6 or is there a solution to move up to 7? Yes, it is supposed to just work, but my experience is that if you > are installing something, and downloading and listening to Mahler's Symphony > #2 at the same time you are rendering the movie of your family trip to > Venice, nothing gets installed correctly and the Violas will miss their > entrance in the resurrection. > > JMHO of course (sometimes the Violas enter correctly all by themselves) _______________________________________________ Do not post admin requests to the list.
