Hi Chuck, I am almost sure that my problems rely on my over three years old installed base. I haven't done a clean install during this time, trying to preserve my software configurations. Surely something is messing with the JDK. I have done several different kinds of activities with my computer, including scientific and engineering stuff (I am a physicist and I also work with microelectronics). So I have lots of open source software in my desktop.
My hardware is fine. Due to a lightning four months ago I had to replace memory and motherboard. They are brand new and every other software works well, including four virtual machines. As I reported, a lot of my problems were gone after I reversed WOLips from Apache back to direct connect. I think this a clue on what is going on. Tomorrow I will buy a new HD and let you know how my system will perform after a clean install.
