Hi all,

I've got an app deployed in WO4, NT Server. We're linked into an intranet
run with Novell Netware. In one of my components I'm using WOMailDelivery
thing to send an email. I've set the SMTP server using the WODefaults
command.

On our development server, the function works fine. The server does not
have a domain name/IP address that is serviced by the network DNS, and
access is local only, tho' the mail gets routed correctly via the proxy
and SMTP server attached to the intranet (i.e. not local to dev machine)

On the production server, the email gets lost somewhere. The app never
gets an error back from the SMTP server, and from the SMTP server logs it
looks like it never hits it. I can send email via the SMTP server from a
browser just fine. The main difference in the machines and their
connection to the intranet is that the production machine has a domain
name and is accessible from outside the firewall via the domain name, and
from inside the firewall via the explicit IP address. The development
machine is only accessible locally, tho' it does have an IP address I
assume.

I know this isn't exactly a WO issue, but it is a deployment issue so I'm
hoping someone can give me some ideas of what to try. I suspect something
to do with the firewall, domain name vs IP address, etc...but am not sure
where to adjust these things as I am not an NT whiz, and am stronger with
development than with deployment for WO apps.

Thanks in advance,
Hawk
