test deploy on OSX Server with ppp?

Hi all,

The subject line says it:  I'd like to try my next development cycle on a G3  
with OS X Server at home, but for testing I'd need to use a PPP connection.   
Since I saw something about OS X Server not having serial port support, I  
thought it would be wise to check on this before coughing up the $$$ for a  
new G3.

Anyone?
