Nooo... please don't use flags to represent languages. That's a whole
political minefield you don't want to step into.
They aren't representing languages. They are representing countries,
viz. "country portals". If the menu is no longer country names, then
that's a problem, in that it's a significant refactoring of the
original approach to alternative site views.

Hi Stephen,
Thanks for mentioning this problem, Bonnie also notified me offline that
this change, from country to language, isn't going to work and gave me
the background. I will fix it today.
