On this one very specific issue - no, I't could not be construed that way - although it was a quick discussion. One person had some difficulty connecting the ML - now mind you many others have found it just fine. The idea that this one situation points to people knowing what a wiki is and what it is not is silly. Another person asked on the US list, how does someone even know there is a US Marketing list? Good question actually. Well - I pointed out it was listed on the Wiki. Now we could have a discussion about how it is listed and why it is easy to see that many people would not find it with a search or browsing. But that is not really the point of this email. Fine - so this person suggested it should go on the website, somewhere. David got that request - and not realizing that he was doing something so egregiousness as to warrant an other community member to run to their NL list and issue a call for action, actually handled it in a way that made sense to him. Drat - the idea of individual action being such a bad thing, is a concept that must be learned by most English speakers it seems, so there you go I give one point. Of course if the idea had instead been posted to the ML it would of played out differently - first it would of been ignored, failing that then we would of have pretty much the same conversation. So there you go - does this 'mistake' on David's part warrant much ado, in and of itself - nah, I don't see how.
