I think what the others (and I) want to point out is, that once an also
known community member asks for a rationale why to add/remove something,
then it should be discussed. Statements like "Well, I commented it back
in again." don't help - or do you see it different?

Personally, I found a bit strange that you started to involve the
steering-discuss list and the membership committee - I know the already
dramatic workload of those guys, so please let's try to resolve such
issues without involving them (too early).

So what I currently perceive in your last paragraph is far (far) away
from good manners. So I kindly ask you to avoid such statements, and
instead try to explain your thoughts why this or that might have an
advantage.

And before you ask - yes, I'm not a friend of this menu at all, since it
just eats too much space without being helpful in most cases (consuming
content vs. cross-project navigation). Besides other reasons ... but
this belongs to another thread.
