It is treating the redirecting of the page, with the "pop up" of the
save dialog as something it does not know howto handle, so all I have to
do is click the "allow" bar. I have seen this come up with some other
sites in the past, like sourceforge.org.

I had not seen this "issue" needing "allow" to be clicked till Firefox
updated to a newer version a few months ago. I do not rememberwhich
version I started seeing this. They have changed their download
monitoring "pop-up" that I have used for years and replaced with a
"library" "window" that seems to be a part of the "history" options. FF
is now on #20.0 for Ubuntu 12.04.

hm, now that is really strange, I don't see this behaviour here, and wouldn't have expected it either. Can you maybe have a look if this occurs in safe mode as well? https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-firefox-issues-using-safe-mode#w_how-to-start-firefox-in-safe-mode

Thanks,
Florian

I attached an screen clip to this email and added your name on the "reply" so you would get it.

I used the terminal command to open into safe mode and still got the "allow" button. I got it on the Jalbum site when I downloaded the new Debian version. That was a few minutes before I tried the safe mode option.

I do not see any add-on or extension that might cause the need for the "allow".

When I get some time, I will start disabling my extensions and add ons to see if that changes anything.

I am running the Ubuntu 12.04 repository version of Firefox.
