One of the ideas that came up at the LibreOffice Conference was to
take
this page:
https://www.libreoffice.org/community/get-involved/
which is currently linked inside the "Get involved" menu as "Join
us!",
and turn it into a separate item in the top bar, next to Discover,
Download, Get help and so on.
What does everyone else think? Would it make the menu too cluttered?
Is
it sensible to maybe combine some other top-level items into another
menu? Would it break anyone's documentation?
As a new user, I would be confused because 'Join Us' and 'Get Involved'
sound like the same thing.
I proposed the change based on feedback received last year. Now that I
thought about it again, it might just be enough to change "Get involved"
to "Volunteer work" to achieve the original purpose of clarifying the
wording. Most of the menu items in there are directly related to
contributing. "Nextcloud", "Pads" and "Wiki" are more like notes for
convenience.
The URL can stay the same as even now "Join us" is the actual link
leading to /get-involved/
I mean I hope we can customise the top menu item text without changing
the page title itself.
Regards,
Ilmari
