5.0 client libraries with 5.1 server and vice versa does work .This has 
been tested by the Support Team .

There are no incompatibilities mentioned in the upgrade page

If they should be any ,it should be listed in here .
Please test the combination and let us know if you really run across any 
issues of that kind .So far both should ideally work .
