Hi, from the end user perspective, it would be great to have a similar MySQL directory layout as postgresql on Solaris 10 U4.
e.g. /usr/postgres/[version]/ /usr/mysql/[version]/ Great with postgresql are some details, for example that the jdbc driver is already in /usr/postgres/8.2/jdbc/postgresql.jar . Very confusing with postgresql in Solaris 10 U4 is, that there is also a postgresql Version 8.1.4 in /usr/bin/: > /usr/postgres/8.2/bin/postgres --version postgres (PostgreSQL) 8.2.4 >/usr/bin/postgres --version postgres (PostgreSQL) 8.1.9 Hope to see a highly optimized MySQL Version 5 within Solaris! Currently, we have to download and install it from external sources. -- Thorleif Wiik http://www.wiik.de This message posted from opensolaris.org
