It's definitely a trend, and definitely something we want to address. We've had face-to-face conversations on it, but haven't raised it on the list yet. lighttpd and nginx are two I've some experience with. I've seen thttpd, but haven't spent any time with it-- mainly because it's not even multiprocess. Admittedly, if it's lighttpd style, a nice multithreaded kernel like OpenSolaris will do fairly well with it, but we could do better with one of the other light approaches. Even though we may not be able to get it in to a package soon, we should document building nginx and lighttpd on Solaris. - Matt -- Matt Ingenthron - Web Infrastructure Solutions Architect Sun Microsystems, Inc. - Global Systems Practice http://blogs.sun.com/mingenthron/ email: matt.ingenthron at sun.com Phone: 310-242-6439
