Fox News’ defense in the court—it has constitutional right to lie, and
court
agreed<http://deeperwants.com/ratboys_anvil_2/2009/10/media-has-the-legal-right-to-l.html>.
Note, other news stations submitted supporting letters to the court in
defense of Fox. This implies that other main stream news stations might not
be immune to distortions, and their historical track record may testify to
that end. Fox argued and court agreed that distortion of information is
merely a “policy” and not an enforceable law or rule. It appears that our
news media is not accountable for lying to the public; hence, this leaves
each one of us to examine our financial and health care policies’ risk
exposures and guarantees first hand, and or rely on professionals who will
be liable legally to offer insight of our health care and financial
policies. To me, as a financial and health care policy advisor, this case
offers clear explanation of the distortions of the realities of our
financial and health care policies within the main stream media.

[I originally came across the case against Fox while researching why milk
was making my toddler obese—her only real diet was milk, about 12 bottles a
day and had no favorite food except for milk. …I thought the Fox case was
closed when Fox news’ former reporter won the whistleblower case on bovine
growth hormone—till a friend just last week—brought to my attention that Fox
news went back to the court and filed suit to overturn the ruling to protect
its constitutional right to lie. Over the weekend, I dug up the court
opinion and now I’m forwarding this email to you so you too may investigate
into this if you wish.]
