Geoff, Thanks for the pointer, it was EXACTLY what the doctor ordered. I'll post on the Wiki later today, or tomorrow. The Los Angeles Lakers, are going to be playing in a few hours so I might not have the time to get to it before my brain goes off-line tonight <grin>.
Any additional requests for this post on the Wiki? Information that would be useful to people? Any one else interested in PDF from Webware using Reportlab? Most importantly ... Under what topic should I post something on the Wiki? Small followup ... how can I get a page say "ExamplePDF" to forward to itself with additional information in it's query string. I've tried various forms of app.forward, and app.includeURL but neither achieves the needed result of appending a new querystring to the original request. This is important because IE won't appropriately display or open helper applications without the appropriate extension at the end of the URL ... i.e. : ExamplePDF needs to be ExamplePDF?x=x.pdf TIA Ray ----- Original Message ----- From: "Geoff Talvola" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "Ray Leyva" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>; <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Friday, November 09, 2001 1:04 PM Subject: Re: [Webware-discuss] Has anyone tried to stream a reportlab generated file from WebWare? > At 12:39 PM 11/9/01 -0800, Ray Leyva wrote: > >I've done my best to search through the archives, but have come up short. > >If I missed something I apologize in advance, and humbly request that you > >point me back to the appropriate archived article on the topic. > > > >I'm trying to create some reports from reportlab, and have them stream > >back to a user, but the only thing I can figure is to "try" to encapsulate > >the stream results from reportlab and send it back to the users browser > >encapsulated as the proper mime-type. > > > >Any help on this would be greatly appreciated. > > I tried this a long time ago -- see if this article helps: > > http://www.geocrawler.com/archives/3/3854/2000/9/0/4351554/ > > If you get this to work, if you could add a brief section to the Webware > Wiki that would be great.
