While MiddleKit has its flaws, I'm currently using it for multiple projects some of which are in production. Also, UserKit sports 2 storage schemes: file-based and MiddleKit-based. I always assume that when I build something like that someone will come along and do a plain SQL/DB-API version. Feel free to crank that out if you like. (You won't see it from me simply because I always use MiddleKit.) I guess I don't want people to confuse UserKit's ability to integrate with MiddleKit as a requirement.
