Not quite sure what you mean by this.

MVC is a good way to keep an application organized, but I don't even
know if the worklow ideas that I was spouting are worthwhile or not. 
For now I intend to concentrate on getting basic functionality built so
that the business can start working, then come back around and add
specific worklowish type functionality where needed.

2 years is enormous, I was thinking to have something working in the
next 2 weeks.  I'd gladly give input to your cause, but until I have a
need for something so elaborate as what you describe, I won't be able to
contribute much.
