Well, that may be the "solution based" way folks at Hotmail do things -
charging like a bull through the china shop - but in a consultative and
deliberative standards body (actually, multiple standards bodies), we
need to follow processes and procedures.

I don't think the X12N co-chairs will appreciate having these
interpretation issues dumped directly in their laps, and thus this is
not an effective means of making sure items don't get lost in the fray.
Instead, Brandi and others are discussing possible venues and processes
for handling these action items - not unlike the Business Issues list
maintained by the like-named WEDI/SNIP forum.

Carefully,

As a solution based company, we recommend our clients get immediately
involved in communicating issues to the source.

To do this, ALL IG ISSUES must be submitted to the appropriate X21N
subcommittee as soon as they are recognized. Why? Because it takes a
minimum of 9 months to correct the problem (under current X12
procedures).

John,

Can you try forwarding this to the list serv for me? My email keeps
rejecting - Hope you had a very merry holiday!

Hi Everyone!

I have some concerns in regards to the group being formed under the
intent of working on the ambiguities currently present within the
implementation guides. My apologies for not being on the call when this
was discussed - but I thought I would post my questions to the group and
try to nail down exactly what it is that will be accomplished and to
discuss the possibility of not formulating this sub-sub-workgroup.

I participate in a group within X12N/TG2 that is currently putting
together the processes and procedures for being able to receive and
respond to questions/inquiries that pertain to implementation guide
"issues" only. The intent is that this group will be the "authoritative"
voice for X12 questions with backing by the necessary entities to
"legitimize" the answers. The outcome would be noted/corrected in the
next IG release as well as the answer being posted/publicized
immediately for the industry to apply if so warranted.

Because of the effort that is currently underway, is it not a
duplication of effort to begin the same process within this group? I do
understand that TCS could be the "portal" for fielding questions etc -
and I'll go out on a limb here and state that it could even be a
collaborative effort with the Data Review group.

Nonetheless, if people think that this is a viable effort we can further
discuss, but I'm leaning heavily in the direction of not recreating the
wheel and redirecting the energies of people already stretched thin
towards other projects this group is working on.

Thoughts?
Brandi
