Brian,

Most recent versions of X12 include the TA3. TA3 is the Interchange
Delivery Notice Segment and as such it is not included within any
transaction sets. In fact, TA3s are supposed to be sent from the "Receiving
Service Request Handler" to the "Sending Service Request Handler" indicating
that an interchange was delivered or not. It is a control segment.

According to X12.5 of 4010 (though I believe the information will be
basically the same in some earlier and all later editions), TA3s are
generally sent within a unique pair of ISA and IEA segments (that is, no
other stuff goes in those interchanges).

Hope that helps.

Best regards,

Subject: New ACK segment response...

All,

Might I get a heading as to what X12 version
I might find the specs for a TA3 segment? We
just got one today from a Medicaid FI. Our
translator is not set up for this segment, so
it could not handle the message.

Thx and sure will be nice to get a consistent
message hand shaking process among all trading
partners.
