Hi,
The code set changes for the patient's relationship
to the insured are summarized at:- http://www.nubc.org/public/positions/FL59Guidance.pdf.
Surprisingly,
the new range of values encompasses some of the old. E.g. prior to
10/15/2003, 01=patient is the insured, after 10/16/2003 01=spouse. How are
people dealing with the overlapping values in their mainframes, vendor software,
translation tools etc?
I'm
surprised (no amazed!) that these were not set up as two sets of different
values.
