Hi Matt,
I was running version 0.3rc2 of the as3935 service and was getting edge 
detection and conflict errors. I just now updated it to 0.4 and so far it 
is running again. When I run weewx from the command line I don't see the 
extra two items, lightning_strikes and avg_distance, but I think I need to 
edit the schema to get them to show up.
Thanks for the update of the wiki link. That did the trick.
