Swapping out default Seasons with the old version resulted in no change. I do
notice skin.conf still says 4.10.2. The previous Seasons skin I believe I had
modified because the station info defaults to saying “Vantage Pro2” (since
that’s the station type in weewx.conf), but I have a Vantage Vue, and only way
I can see to set that is by hard setting it in the template.

Given Cameron’s report of calculating missing values, I’m having to wonder if
that could be the issue. Is there a way to have WeeWX actually report what it’s
doing in this regard?

Weectl debug doesn’t seem to have any info in the output that is helpful from
what I can tell. =/

I do notice in logs “Type beaufort has been deprecated. Use unit beaufort
instead.” I’m unsure where this is coming from and if it doing some type of
conversion could be causing the slowdown…

Ran “weectl database calc-missing –dry-run”, which didn’t really produce any
output, unsure if it was supposed to say it calculated missing values or not
(even though it’s a dryrun and didn’t actually put anything into the DB). Since
I have a Vantage Vue, wondering if there’s some other value that’s not actually
provided that is being expected (like, ET I believe isn’t provided by the Vue,
but it isn’t graphed because it’s empty in the DB… I would hope weewx isn’t
spending time trying to generate it or look for it even though it’s not there).

Would love to figure out the issue here. Having Python pegged at 100% for over
a minute every 5 minutes isn’t great (but also isn’t actually breaking
anything).

Thanks.

In the cases of my problematic reports, it never prints the diagnostic summary
lines at all.

But I can tell that the largest gaps, based on file dates is generating each of
index.html, then rss.xml, statistics.html and all the images are generated
over a similar time in total to each of those gaps.

What hardware are you on again ? What version of weewx was this for ?

I don't think we've seen 'files' with any significant difference in v4 vs. v5
