please post what you find about the altitude - the deb configurator should 
not have introduced any errors in altitude format.

you might try using ssh instead of rdc, using whatever ssh client you like, 
such as putty.  create two shells - one in which to run commands, another 
in which to tail the log file.  then you can copy the text from the shell 
or use the ssh client's options to save the buffer as a file.
