We would have to see the log from when weewx starts up to be sure, but I don't think the AcuRite driver uses the onboard memory of this unit. In that case, the archive interval is set by options record_generation and archive_interval in weewx.conf <http://weewx.com/docs/usersguide.htm#StdArchive>.
Set record_generation = software archive_interval = 300 This should be the default but, again, we'd have to see the log to see what actually happened.
