Hang on.

There is a difference between the LOOP packets and archive records.

The LOOP packets are emitted every 18 seconds. They are aggregated into
archive records, which are emitted much less often, typically every 5 to 60
minutes.

The reason this matters is that the AcuRite emits "partial LOOP packets."
Partial LOOP packets do not include all data types. Some may include only
pressure, others only temperature, others wind. None include everything.
However, they get aggregated into archive records by weewx, which include
all the observation types. Why does this matter? Because the WU will reject
posts that do not include all types. So, if you set the archive interval
too short, say 30 seconds, weewx may not have had enough time to see all
the different observation types.

Incidentally, Rapidfire suffers from the same problem. With Rapidfire, LOOP
packets are being sent to the WU, so not all types are included in every
packet.

Bottom line, unless you have an instrument that can emit full packets (such
as the Davis series), you're better off not using Rapidfire and, instead,
choosing software record generation with a reasonable archive interval .
Five minutes works well.
