Thanks for your tips. In fact, substituting the later drivers did not work 
at all. Weewx failed to read the data regardless of my efforts.The original 
and other windows software still worked with the station, so I concluded 
that I had miraculously destroyed something in the raspi configuration. I 
was beginning to despair when I noticed your new weewx version. I installed 
this, changed over my skins, alarm file and the schema (my original 
intention with this post) from before the crash and am delighted to report 
that so far the system is running smoothly. MANY THANKS FOR THIS.
