I had to reset my base unit. At first it wasn't connecting, so I tried
switching from passive polling to adaptive and it started working so I left
it. Then I noticed that the wind direction is all of a sudden showing
strange numbers at times. Too precise for this hardware to be able to
calculate.  Example:

sqlite> select dateTime, windDir from archive where dateTime between
"1475964900" and "1475965500";
1475964900|90.0
1475964960|115.463939406314
1475965020|90.0
1475965080|114.081777285088
1475965140|135.0
1475965200|90.0
1475965260|90.0
1475965320|90.0
1475965380|90.0
1475965440|159.443954780417
1475965500|90.0

These "precise" measurements are all over the place since I switched to
adaptive polling. In addition to this I've been getting phantom gusts of
wind that are 175MPH. Given that my house is still standing I doubt that
the station really witnessed that.

I switched back to passive and now all the readings are what I would expect
them to be:

sqlite> select dateTime, windDir from archive where dateTime between
"1475969040" and "1475969700";
1475969040|315.0
1475969100|315.0
1475969160|315.0
1475969220|315.0
1475969280|0.0
1475969340|0.0
1475969402|0.0
1475969462|0.0
1475969580|315.0
1475969640|315.0
1475969700|270.0

Is there an explanation of what is going on here? I know that it's
recommended to use passive instead of adaptive but this is not what I would
expect.
