mmmmm - maybe (even 'probably') but you cannot tell with 100% accuracy from 
logs from one side only.  You'd have to have a full packet capture of the 
whole transaction and walk the transaction to know with absolute certainty. 
 Kind of hard to capture with such an intermittent thing that can't be 
forced to happen in some controlled experiment. 

I guess I'd like to know if wview, to name one, has the same intermittent 
problems. Since that has a different non-python codebase, if those users 
see the same kinds of things weewx users see, that would lend more credence 
toward blaming WU.   But I blame WU too currently :-)
