how do you intend to run your station?  do you want the lacrosse alerts 
services?

the existing implementation attempts to replicate the entire protocol 
between gw1000u and lacrosse's servers.  with the recently-added pcap 
support, we could make the interceptor simply grab any current and/or 
history packet that it sees.  but that would require weewx running on a 
device that can sniff packets, i.e., run weewx on a router, or on a device 
that bridges the network between the gw1000u and the rest of the network.  
and we still need to figure out how to make the gateway/station emit data 
more frequently.

so once again, if you could do some sniffs of a virgin system, that would 
be quite helpful.
