I'll report back when I finish the upgrade. Just ordered the Pi, RTC, etc. 
So it may take some time, depending on my schedule.

Would it be better if I allow the database upgrade to finish before I 
connect the weather station (Vantage Pro 2 + Envoy) or it doesn't really 
matter?

I didn't really change the default skin much (as far as I recall). Is it 
still necessary to copy the skin files?
