Hello !
I'm currently starting to begin to think about upgrading my station (currently Oregon WMRS200, not the best on the market :-)). I was thinking about a Davis, but it's definitly out of my budget (considering it seems very complex to avoid the genuine receiver). Also I was thinking about vantage vue and it seems to me very curious that the wind sensor and temp sensor are stuck together (temp should be ~ 1.5m high on grass, while wind sensor should be as high as possible). So I start checking this owfs idea ! - my 1st question: as far as I understood: all sensors are connected with "1-wire" to a usb interface plugged in the host computer. So the weewx host computer has to be close to the sensor ...? any way to make this wireless ? my sensors are at the end of my garden. - my 2nd question: I found a few idea to even build my own wind direction sensor ( davis style: with a potentiometer). I'm pretty sure I will find to Analog to 1-wire ICs, but does anybody already tried such solutions ? for diy wind direction sensor, here is the link: http://www.lexingtonwx.com/anemometer/diy/ It seems very easy: a potentiometer, a spare davis vanes and that's it :-) Best regards, Fred -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "weewx-user" group.
