The WS2350 does work with weewx. It sounds like you have a hardware/console problem as it doesn't communicate with various OS's. Do you have a multimeter that you can use to prove each pin connection on the serial cable? If that proves OK, then it can only be the USB/serial adapter or the console itself. You can prove the USB/serial converter with a 'loopback' connector - google it as it's easy to make one if you have a spare 9 pin shell.
