Update from previous reply. I did a loopback by shorting pins 2 and 3 on the converter with wire and that was fine, i then connected the serial/rj11 cable and shorted pins in the rj11 connector and that loopback worked. I then connected it to the console and shorted the pins where the connected is soldered and that worked. So if im understanding correctly something has gone on the board? Any guesses what it could be (is it common) or could be anything.
