You are right. The path to the fonts did not exist. I have changed it as 
your advice. The FreeMonoBold.ttf is available on the server in

/usr/share/fonts/truetype/freefont I have changed the path in the skin.conf 
file and the funky symbol gone.

I waste hours and days to sort this 2 things out. Now fixed within 2 hours with 
your help. Much appreciated.
