according to the instructions at https://github.com/AussieSusan/HP1000
1. the station and weewx computer should be on the same subnet 2. if you asre not using the netifaces package then you should set the mask to xxx.xxx.xxx.255 where xxx.xxx.xxx is your local ip network and is usually 192.168.10 or 10.1.255, but could be something else in your specific installation!! It may help to know, for your specific installation, what is your local IP address and what is your public IP address to be able to tell if you have set ip_address_mask correctly. You say 'got the same error' - what did you actually set the mask to??
