I got some strange rain readings as well. I put this in my weewx.conf.
[StdQC]
[[MinMax]]
barometer = 26, 32.5, inHg
outTemp = -40, 60, degree_C
inTemp = -10, 80, degree_C
outHumidity = 0, 100
inHumidity = 0, 100
windSpeed = 0, 100, km_per_hour
pressure = 24, 34.5, inHg
rainRate = 0, 150, mm_per_hour
rain = 0, 2.9, mm
I sometimes get a strange reading but not as often as I used to.
