Good afternoon, After nearly 10 days of trouble free operation the system suddenly crashed. It occurred about 6:35PM CDT. This morning I found this on the screen; ================================= *REC: 2020-09-13 18:35:00 CDT (1600040100) altimeter: 27.32372623531874, appTemp: 81.8708824044371, barometer: 27.300181645454515, beaufort: 0.0, cloudbase: 3904.055813687444, daily_rain: 0.0, dateTime: 1600040100, day_of_year: 0.0, dewpoint: 62.3679116839118, ET: None, heatindex: 77.68015726413651, humidex: 87.03604386357944, inDewpoint: 47.31891950001441, inHumidity: 31.0, inTemp: 80.80158102766761, interval: 5.0, maxSolarRad: 383.57553359754905, minute_of_day: 0.0, outHumidity: 59.369565187235594, outTemp: 77.68015726413651, pressure: 26.89809147218196, rain: 0.0, rainRate: 0.0, rain_total: 0.0, usUnits: 1, wind_average: 0.0, windchill: 77.68015726413651, windDir: None, windGust: 0.0, windGustDir: None, windrun: 0.0, windSpeed: 0.0* *LOOP: 2020-09-13 18:35:21 CDT (1600040121) altimeter: 27.323971827017324, appTemp: 81.55033515801676, barometer: 27.30047344375, beaufort: 0, cloudbase: 3974.9291280843813, daily_rain: 0.0, dateTime: 1600040121, day_of_year: 0, dewpoint: 61.9159104631377, heatindex: 77.53999862670898, humidex: 86.58425796645987, inDewpoint: 47.31755282654738, inHumidity: 31.0, inTemp: 80.80000000000001, maxSolarRad: 372.5445328303436, minute_of_day: 0, outHumidity: 58.70000076293945, outTemp: 77.53999862670898, pressure: 26.89833395103193, rain: 0.0, rainRate: 0.0, rain_total: 0.0, usUnits: 1, wind_average: 0.0, windchill: 77.53999862670898, windDir: None, windSpeed: 0.0* *Traceback (most recent call last):* * File "/home/weewx/bin/weewxd", line 261, in <module>* * main()* * File "/home/weewx/bin/weewxd", line 154, in main* * engine.run()* * File "/home/weewx/bin/weewx/engine.py", line 191, in run* * self.dispatchEvent(weewx.Event(weewx.NEW_LOOP_PACKET, packet=packet))* * File "/home/weewx/bin/weewx/engine.py", line 224, in dispatchEvent* * callback(event)* * File "/home/weewx/bin/user/extra_sensors_service.py", line 26, in load_data* * self.get_DHT22(event)* * File "/home/weewx/bin/user/extra_sensors_service.py", line 36, in get_DHT22* * temperature = temperature * 9.0/5.0 + 32* *TypeError: unsupported operand type(s) for *: 'NoneType' and 'float'* *pi@raspberrypi:~ $ * *===============================================* I stopped weewx using sudo/etc/init.d/weewx stop - I waited a few minutes and started weewx again with sudo python3 /home/weewx/bin/weewxd I received the following. ======================================= *pi@raspberrypi:~ $ sudo python3 /home/weewx/bin/weewxd* *Traceback (most recent call last):* * File "/home/weewx/bin/weewxd", line 261, in <module>* * main()* * File "/home/weewx/bin/weewxd", line 154, in main* * engine.run()* * File "/home/weewx/bin/weewx/engine.py", line 191, in run* * self.dispatchEvent(weewx.Event(weewx.NEW_LOOP_PACKET, packet=packet))* * File "/home/weewx/bin/weewx/engine.py", line 224, in dispatchEvent* * callback(event)* * File "/home/weewx/bin/user/extra_sensors_service.py", line 26, in load_data* * self.get_DHT22(event)* * File "/home/weewx/bin/user/extra_sensors_service.py", line 36, in get_DHT22* * temperature = temperature * 9.0/5.0 + 32* *TypeError: unsupported operand type(s) for *: 'NoneType' and 'float'* *pi@raspberrypi:~ $ *

Then the StdReport thread gets terminated, then the StationRegistry thread terminates, then the serial port closes. Then there is a "Caught unrecoverable exception," followed by error messages indicating unsupported types, etc. I thought that this might be due to a corrupt Micro SD Card. I have been using a 8GB SanDisk Micro SDHC. So, this afternoon I copied the image from the 8GB card and "flashed" it to a 16GB Ultra Micro SDHC UHS-I card. I have installed that card in the Pi and the system booted without issue and weewx loaded without problem and has run fine for the last two hours. Did I just have a bad "card" moment? Is 8GB not enough to run weewx and build the database (archive file was only 2MB). Should I be cleaning log files weekly? Any suggestions on what caused the crash is appreciated.
