Finally coming back to this since I've been fighting this issue again. I wonder if it has something to do with "loop_request = 3". Since that indicates weewx is somehow flipping back and forth between loop and loop2... could it be not waiting long enough between those requests and the console can't respond?
fwiw, I flipped back to 0.5 from 1.5 with tcp_send_delay. About ready to try moving the WeatherlinkIP to its own VLAN so the only thing that can possibly talk to it (or ping it, etc) is my Weewx Pi...
