bridesmaid's dress they still have in their closet and award prizes.
The only one that really pissed me off was one where I was visiting
bride to be in NY 4 months before the wedding. She strongly suggested
I buy my gown and take it back with me, so I could have it altered in
California. So I shelled out the $280 for the dress and brought it
home. Three months later, they call off the wedding. I can't return
the dress (hadn't had it altered, but it was now out of season) and
she never reimbursed me for it. Fast forward two years. She is again
getting married. Decides on these absolutely smashing bridesmaid's
outfits: white pallazzo pants with these gorgeous white vests and
designer sandals. They're so expensive (about $600 apiece) that her
parents spring for them. But she does not ask me to be a bridesmaid. I
am a "virtual" bridesmaid for this one, on hand for everything,
helping out, going to the church to tell them she's going to be late,
pinning on boutonnieres, etc.
I really wanted that outfit.
