Sorry, can't help you with the cancer stuff, I'm so sorry your mom is
going through all this. But I will say that we might want to let Gene
know that a Style Invitational (otherwise known as SI, not to be
confused with Sports Illustrated) column has been making the rounds of
the internet if he doesn't already know. I suspect it is one of
several SI columns that have gained international recognition in the
age of the information superhighway. I think it is funny that people
thought the similes were from school papers when in fact they were
from a newspaper contest judged by none other than our own Gene, back
in the day. The contest winners as well as Gene should be proud that
their legacy lives on, 12 years later.
