This question was stolen/borrowed from the FBOFW yahoo group. The
question came up because we were discussing whether Lynn Johnston
expects her characters to get married young, and whether Liz feels
pressure to be married or engaged because she is 24 or 25 or whatever.
Anyway, the answers have proved fascinating. Obviously if you are
under 24 this doesn't apply to you, but I think we have determined
that people in that category are a small minority. To give some
perspective it might help to give your current age or decade (30's,
40's, etc.) or whatever so we know how much time has elapsed since
then. Also it would be really interesting to know how similar what
you were doing then is to what you are doing now. This can't be a
survey because it is obviously an open-ended question. If you think
this is boring and pointless, let me know, I can take it, but what
people in their 60's were doing at 24 is often very different from
what people in their 30's were doing at 24, althought the age range
here may not be that big.

I was in my 2nd year of a master's program at UCLA in a field that it
turns out I didn't want to go into, urban planning. Ended up moving
back to Boston and working in a hospital eventually. Wasn't married
or engaged then, still not. I just turned 39.
