As a little kid in NYC, i didn't like being lumped with the Puerto Ricans and living here i don't want to be lumped in with the Mexicans. I don't mind the term Hispanic or Latino. I'm an American, i can speak Spanish, but my parents are from Ecuador. It's much easier to say Hispanic. Although i do know people who look down on Mexicans, sad to say. But if someone presumes I'm Mexican I'll set them straight, not because i DON'T want to be Mexican, but because i AM Ecuadorian.
I hope we can all just get along. --- In [email protected], "Daria Akers" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > I have a question.... how much of this race thing is real?
