Except that he later refutes the sentiment (maybe not as strongly or as immediately as certain sectors in the Muslim world would like) and that this statement was placed at the beginning of a 4000 word academic style lecture/sermon focusing on the need for more interfaith dialogues. Plus his rejection of the use of violence in the name of religion. I dunno, but this time I think the fault lies entirely elsewhere, that being the stripe of Muslims who shoot a nun who devoted her life to helping the ppor 4 times in the back simply because someone said something they didn't like. Unlike the Mohammed cartoons, the Pope wasn't being controversial for the sake of being controversial. If this stripe of Islam wants the West to stop thinking of them as barbarians and terrorists, they need to stop acting like thugs. __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
