This statement presents me with an irresistible opportunity to brag:
I have memorized huge chunks of the dialogue of CASABLANCA. I can
recite the opening of the film to anyone (inevitably they beg me to
stop, so I don't usually have to go much beyond it, but I *can* recite
entire scenes in addition to that one).
And yes, Ellen, before you ask: the memorization is all based on
seeing the film, not reading the dialogue on the Web. (Although the
Web idea isn't a bad one; it might allow me to commit the *entire*
film to memory.)
