yes, correct--I didn't realize it was so long between the declaration 
of independence and the first president.  I knew the revolution 
didn't end until 1783, but I didn't realize the president wasn't 
elected until 5 years later.  I wonder if you asked all graduating 
high school seniors that question how many would get it right?  On a 
related note I still think that if I took a whole year of 12th grade 
trigonometry right now 20 years out of high school I would be lucky 
to get a B.  It's kind of scary when you realize you went through 12 
years of school, got into college and either didn't learn anything or 
can't remember anything you learned.  If I went through 4 years of 
high school again taking the same classes I took then I don't know if 
I would remember having learned it before or if I would do any better 
than I did originally.  Pretty sad.
