Grinnell College class of 1997. I lived in small town IA from the fall of '93 to the summer of '97. Only went home for one summer. The Amana Colonies are about 20 miles away from Grinnell. I didn't go there much as it was much better to either go to Rube's Steakhouse in Montour, Taste of Thailand in Des Moines, or just anything in Iowa City. I have friends from college who now live in Des Moines (he's originally from LA, she from SC) and my fiance has spent 2 of the last 3 summers performing with the Des Moines Summer Opera.
