You should also read the freakin' release form. Sure, I'm a lawyer
and I can understand legal gobbledygook more easily than some, but the
Borat releases (according to both Newsweek and Slate) were longer than
usual and included some unusual language, such as agreeing not to sue
over "breach[es] of alleged moral behavior" and "fraud (such as any
alleged deception or surprise about the Film)." If I'd seen that, all
of my alarm bells would have gone off.
And the other people Newsweek interviewed were just as bad. I mean,
you agree to let somebody sing the national anthem at your event when
you've never heard them sing a note, and the CD they send you to
demonstrate his voice is blank? No way. If this movie teaches people
anything, it oughta be, "Do your freakin' homework, people."
