Is it possible to watch PBS after 8 PM on any given night and not have the pleasure of being constantly interrupted by pledge drives? I used to think there was something called Pledge Week when they broadcast their best shows to get the most donations for 1 WEEK. Now any night is as good a reason as any for them to grovel for money every 5 minutes. Don't get me wrong--I think PBS is great and I'm a member, but lately the pledge drives have been a little excessive and definitely decreases my enjoyment of what might otherwise be a worthwhile show. I guess it's just like network TV--the shows exist for the purpose of motivating viewers to donate and join.
