I kind of wonder how he got elected in Ft. Lauderdale. Doesn't seem to be a big hit with his constituents. I live in the gay area of Chicago. I feel like a minority as a heterosexual person. If someone like him moved to my neighborhood without knowing the demographics they would be surprised. I don't see that many actual gay couples, but every business establishment seems to assume that everyone is gay. The bookstores, libraries, live theatres, clothing stores, restaurants, you name it. Every free newspaper is the alternative something or other. I've never been anywhere where homosexuality was such a front-and-center topic. I believe Dupont Circle is the gay area of DC, but it's NOTHING compared to boystown in Chicago. Gays are much more under the radar in Dupont Circle, except for maybe a bookstore here and there.
