I kind of wonder how he got elected in Ft. Lauderdale.  Doesn't seem 
to be a big hit with his constituents.  I live in the gay area of 
Chicago.  I feel like a minority as a heterosexual person.  If someone 
like him moved to my neighborhood without knowing the demographics 
they would be surprised.  I don't see that many actual gay couples, 
but every business establishment seems to assume that everyone is 
gay.  The bookstores, libraries, live theatres, clothing stores, 
restaurants, you name it.  Every free newspaper is the alternative 
something or other.  I've never been anywhere where homosexuality was 
such a front-and-center topic.  I believe Dupont Circle is the gay 
area of DC, but it's NOTHING compared to boystown in Chicago.  Gays 
are much more under the radar in Dupont Circle, except for maybe a 
bookstore here and there.
